Makeup for Facial Types


Oval

Facial Contour: Oval face with regular Features.
Aim: to apply makeup so that the oval shape is retained.

Cheeks: Apply cheek color on cheekbones in a triangular fashion. Blend color upward and outward toward the temples, no higher than the outer corners of the eyes.
Eyebrows: They should frame the eyes in a soft, natural arch.
Lips: Accentuate the natural bowline of the upper lip. Outline the lower lip so that it appears slightly fuller than the upper lip.

Long

Facial Contour: Long, narrow face with hollow cheeks.
Aim: To create the illusion of width and a shorter face.

Cheeks: Apply cheek color on cheekbones no higher than the outer corners of the eyes and no lower than the tip on the nose. A shading cosmetic or darker foundation can be applied to the chin and forehead to create the illusion of width to the face.
Eyebrows: They should retain a natural arch.
Lips: Apply lip color to give the illusion of fullness and width tot he lips.

ear Shaped

Facial Contour: Narrow forehead, wide jaw line and chin.
Aim: To create the illusion of width across the forehead and length in the face.

Cheeks: Apply color to cheekbones and extend the color downward along the jaw line to create the illusion of slenderness. Shading or a darker foundation can be applied to a wide jaw line or double chin to slenderize the width of the face.
Eyebrows:They should retain a natural slightly high arch.
Lips: Apply lip color to accent both the upper and lower lips.

Square

Facial contour: Straight forehead hairline and square jaw.
Aim: To slenderize the appearance of the face and offset the squareness of the features.

Cheeks: Apply color to the cheekbones, extending the color downward on the jaw line. A shading cosmetic or a darker foundation can be applied to the heavy area of the jaw to create the illusion of slenderness.
Eyebrows: a rounded arch will create softness which detracts from the squareness of the jaw line.
Lips: Apply lip color to create fullness and witch to offset the squareness of the jaw line.

Round

Facial contour: Round hairline and round chin line.
Aim: To slenderize the appearance of the face.

Cheeks: The round face will appear longer and narrower if cheek color is applied high on the cheekbones, extending toward the temples. the color can be blended downward along the sides of the face and at least 1/2" outward from the nose. A shading cosmetic or darker foundation can be applied to the jaw line under the cheeks to create the illusion of slenderness.
Eyebrows: Follow the natural contour of the eyebrow, avoiding a high rounded arch.
Lips: Outline lips and fill in color, avoiding excessive fullness.

Corrective Makeup for Eyes

Round Eyes can be lengthened by extending the shadow beyond the outer corners of the eyes.

Close-set eyes, apply shadow lightly up from the outer edges of the eyes and a highlighting cosmetic at the inner corners of the eyes.

Small eyes, can appear larger by extending the shadow or eye color slightly above, beyond, and below the eyes.

Eyes set too far apart, use shadow on the upper inner side of the eyelid.

Deep-sunken eyes, use very little shadow on the lids nearest the temples, and leave untouched the part nest to the nose and inner corners of the eyes.

Dark circles under eyes. Apply a lighter foundation cream, blending it into the dark area.

Puffy eyes. Apply a darker shade of foundation to the puffy area.

Corrective Makeup for Lips

Thin lower lips. Use a lip color pencil to extend the curve of the lower lip to balance with the size of the upper lip.

Thin upper lip.Build up the curve of upper lip to balance with with fullnessof the lower lip.

Thin Lips Increase the sie of both upper and lower lips with a gental, curvine line.

Small mouth. Build out the side of the upper and lower lips, and extend the corners of the mouth.

Drooping corners.build up the upper lip at the corners of the mouth.

Large, full lips. Keep lip color inside the lipline. A lighter color can be appplied to the lips,m and then a deeper color brushed on the center of bothe lips.

Hot Tips!!

 

Dried Clumpy Mascara If you are noticing this problem, make sure not to pump the brush in the bottle. This gets air inside the bottle and dries it out. When loading your brush, turn it in a circular motion along the sides of the bottle.
Oh No!! Out of Lipstick.To make due until you get some more lipstick, get a small amount of Vaseline on your lip brush and use a little of your powdered blush. It will not only get you through till you can get more, but it also helps to soften your lips.
